March 15, 2020 marked my graduation from Virginia Tech with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, but that did not mean my learning phase had come to an end. I am always finding new ways to grow and stay up-to-date with technology. I cannot say that I am a continuous improvement or engineering guru but I can say that I am a driven individual who loves to continuously learn and broaden my horizons.
Having worked in multiple job roles in manufacturing environments, from a production intern to a data analyst intern, has not only engaged and developed my core competencies in lean manufacturing, six sigma, project management, and root cause analysis but also enabled me to support process improvement activities at the shop floor to solve critical challenges related to productivity, quality, and internal supply chain processes. My achievements at my prior employer, Micron Technology, as a Project Management and Automotive Quality Data Analyst Intern for the Fall of 2019 that demonstrate my qualifications as an Industrial Engineer:
• Project Management: Created Gantt charts using Tableau to track project timelines and communicated with Project Managers to ensure deadlines were met.
• Effective Communication: Strategic implementation of Tableau dashboards on SharePoint to effectively share new projects with the project managers.
• Building Relationships: Mentored a cross-functional team to utilize Industrial Engineering concepts like PDCA to solve work problems.
• Leadership: Supervised a team consisting of 10 members in a GMP regulated environment to reduce errors by 100% while entering debris into Excel sheets and fab debris from 3 pounds per week to 1 pound per week. Mentored a new Project Manager for the AQM team.
